Day 1, Wed. Athens
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. Remainder of day at leisure.
Day 2, Thu. Athens
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of the capital’s classical sights which includes the fascinating Acropolis with its majestic Parthenon rising above the city and the Acropolis Museum. Remainder of day at leisure to explore the Plaka or visit one of the many museums. (B)
Day 3, Fri. Athens – Piraeus Cruise: Mykonos
The cosmopolitan island of Mykonos is popular with the jet-set for its beautiful beaches, chic boutiques and never-ending nightlife. (B, L, D)
Day 4, Sat. Cruise: Samos – Kusadasi – Patmos
This morning’s call is at Samos where the panoramic bus tour visits all its highlights. Explore the historic harbor of Vathi with neoclassical buildings on winding streets. Stop at a winery and end the excursion at the cosmopolitan harbor town of Pythagoreion. Walk amongst brightly-colored fishing boats lined up against the docks and discover a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with ancient ruins and trendy waterside tavernas. For those wanting to visit Ephesus the ship continues to Kusadasi this morning. Visit the largest and best preserved ancient city founded by the Athenians (ship returns to Samos to pick up passengers). This afternoon sail to the sacred island of Patmos where St. John lived and wrote the Book of Revelations. (B, L, D)
Day 5, Sun. Cruise: Crete – Santorini
This morning’s call will be at Heraklion, the capital of Crete and home to the Palace of Knossos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture. Santorini – fabled to be the lost continent of Atlantis. Visit the charming and romantic old world village of Oia. (B, L)
Day 6 & 7, Mon. & Tue. Santorini
Two full days at leisure on this magnificent and romantic island. Visit the red or black sand beach, one of the many wineries and don’t miss the most breathtaking sunset. (B)
Day 8, Wed. Santorini
Transfer from the hotel to the port or airport.
