Day 1, Sun. USA - Venice
Departure from the USA on an overnight flight to Athens.
Day 2: Mon. Athens
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. Remainder of day at leisure
Day 3, Tue. Athens - Olympia
Begin the classical tour with a drive over the bridge crossing the Corinth Canal. Drive to Epidaurus to see the 2,300 year old ampitheatre, famouse for its perfect acoustics. On the mycenae where 19th century excavations described by Homer can be seen. Visit the beehive Tomb and the Lions' Gate- Europe's oldest known monument. Continue to Olympia for an overnight stay.
Day 4, Wed. Olympia - Delphi
This morning visit the site of the first Olympic Games; the sanctuary of the Olympian Zeus and the museum. Drive via Patras and arrive in Delphi for overnight.
Day 5, Thu. Delphi - Kalambaka
Begin the day with a visit of Delphi- perhaps the most famous site in Classical Greece. This evening drive through the typical villages of central Greece to Kalambaka for dinner and overnight.
Day 6, Fri. Kalambaka - Meteora - Athens
Today visit Meteora and enjoy the striking scenery of the monasteries which appear to be suspended in mid-air. This afternoon drive back to Athens stopping at Thermopylae to see Leonida's monument. Overnight in Athens. |

Day 7, Sat. Athens
Morning sightseeing features the Parthnon's crowning beauty atop the Acropolis, the erechtheum with its porch of maidens, the beautifully preserved Theseum, the Temple of Zeus and the Theatre of Dionysos. Remainder of day at lleisure.
Day 8, Sun. Athens
Day at leisure in Athens. Visit an art gallery, shop at one of the chic boutiques in Kolonaki or take a cable car up to Lycabettus Hill to enjoy a magnificent view of the city. Overnight in Athens.
Day 9, Mon. Athens - Piraeus Cruise: Mykonos
This morning transfer to Piraeus harbour to embark on the cruise ship. Today's port of call is the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos, shop in some of the chic boutiques or visit one of the many white- washed chapels.
Day 10, Tue. Patmos - Kusadasi
Patmos is the sacred island where St. John wrote the book of Revelations. Kusadaisi - gateway to the ancient Greek colony of Ephessos, founded by the Athenians is the largest and best preserved ancient city in the world.
Day 11, Wed. Cruise: Rhodes
A full day on the "islands of roses". Rhodes is both medieval and modern and is one of the sunniest of the Greek Islands. the white-washed village of Lindos is home to the impressive temple of Athena.
Day 12: Thurs. Cruise: Heraklion & Santorini
This morning's port of call is Heraklion, the capital of Crete and home to the Palace of Knossos and the seat of the ancient Minoan culture. This afternoon call at Santorini, said to be the lost continent of Atlantis. The main town of Thira clings to a steep cliff accessible by cable-car or donkey.
Day 13, Fri. Cruise Piraeus - USA
Upon disembarkation transfer to the airport for the departure flight.
