ITINERARY

Day 1, Mon. USA - Athens
Departure from the USA on an overnight flight to Athens.

Day 2, Tue. Athens
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of day is at leisure.

Day 3, Wed. Athens
Depart this morning via Thebes and Levadia for Delphi. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the temple of Apollo and the museum. Afternoon of leisure to further explore this historic and picturesque town. Overnight in Delphi. (B)

Day 4, Thu. Delphi - Kalambaka
Leave the home of the Delphic oracle this afternoon for Kalambaka via central Greece and the towns of Lamia and Trikala. Overnight in Kalambaka. (B, D)

Day 5, Fri. Kalambaka- Meteora-Athens
Visit Meteora, where ancient monasteries are perched atop huge granite rocks which seem to be suspended in air. Return to Athens via Thermopylae and Kammena Vourla. (B)

Day 6, Sat. Athens
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of the capital's classical sights which includes the fascinating Acropolis with its majestic Parthenon rising about the city and the Acropolis Museum. Drive past the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, Royal Palace, Panathenian Stadium and the Temple of Zeus. Remainder of day at leisure to explore this exciting city. (B)

Day 7, Sun. Athens
Day at leisure in Athens. Visit the flea market and shop for bargains, stroll through Kolonaki and visit one of the many art galleries or take the cable car to Lycabettus Hill and enjoy the view of this magnificent city. (B)

Day 8, Mon. Athens - Piraeus -
Cruise: Mykonos

Transfer from the hotel to Piraeus harbour to embark on the cruise ship. Today's port of call is the cosmopolitan island of Mykonos. Stroll around the colorful harbour, shop in the chic boutiques and visit one of the many chapels. (B, L, D)

Day 9, Tue. Cruise: Kusadasi-Patmos
The first port of call today is Kusadasi, Turkey, gateway to the ancient Greek colony of Ephessos founded by the Athenians and the largest and best preserved ancient city. This afternoon sail to the sacred island of Patmos where St. John lived and wrote the Book of Revelations. The monastery of St. John is built on one of the island's highest points containing priceless icons and manuscripts. (B, L, D)

Day 10, Wed. Cruise: Rhodes
A full day at Rhodes-"the island of roses." Stroll through the old town, visit the Palace of the Grand Masters. To highlight the day, join an optional excursion visiting the charming village of Lindos overlooking the bay of St. Paul. (B, L, D)

Day 11, Thu. Cruise: Heraklion-Santorini
This morning berth at Heraklion, the capital of Crete and home to the Palace of Knossos, the seat of ancient Minoan culture. This afternoon's call is at Santorini, the fabled lost continent of Atlantis. The main town of Thira is accessible by donkey, cable car or foot. (B, L, D)

Day 12, Fri. Cruise: Piraeus-USA
Early arrival into Piraeus harbour and transfer to the airport for the departure flight. (B)
