Athens, Mykonos, Cruise

ITINERARY

Day 1, Sun. USA - Athens
Departure from the USA on an overnight flight to Athens.

Day 2, Mon. Athens
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. The remainder of day is at leisure.

Day 3, Tue. Athens
Morning sightseeing features the Parthenon's crowning beauty atop the Acropolis, the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens, the beautifully preserved Theseum, the Temple of Zeus and the Theatre of Dionysus. The remainder of day is at leisure to stroll around the Plaka or enjoy one of the many museums. (B)

Day 4, Wed. Athens-Delphi or Argolis
Depart this morning on a Full Day Tour to Delphi ascending the Sacred Way to the Treasury of the Athenians and the Temple of Apollo where for 14 centuries the Oracle spoke. Or opt for the Full Day Tour to Argolis, passing the Corinth Canal enroute to Mycenae and view the Lion's Gate and the Beehive Tombs. Continue to Epidaurus and see the theatre famous for its astonishing acoustics. Return to Athens early this evening (B, L)

Day 5, Thu. Athens
Day at leisure to enjoy Athens or choose from one of the optional tours. (B)

Day 6, Fri. Athens - Piraeus -
Cruise: Mykonos
Morning pick up from hotel and transfer to Piraeus harbour to embark on the cruise ship for passage to Mykonos. Upon disembarkation in Mykonos transfer is provided to the hotel. Overnight in Mykonos (B, L)

Days 7 & 8, Sat. & Sun. Mykonos
Two full days at leisure to enjoy the beauty of Mykonos - the hundreds of tiny chapels, the whitewashed windmills and the flower lined streets. (B)

Day 9, Mon. Mykonos - Cruise
Pick up from hotel this evening and transfer to the cruise ship. (B, D)

Day 10, Tue. Cruise: Kusadasi-Patmos
The first port of call today is the sacred island of Patmos where St. John lived and wrote the Book of Revelations. The monastery of St. John is built on one of the island's highest points, containing priceless icons and manuscripts. Arrive at Kusadasi, Turkey gateway to Ephessos - the ancient Greek colony founded by the Athenians which is one of the largest and best preserved ancient cities in the world. (B, L, D)

Day 11, Wed. Cruise: Rhodes
Enjoy a full day on the "island of roses." Rhodes is both medieval and modern and enjoys 230 miles of coastline. The white-washed village of Lindos overlooks the Bay of St. Paul and is home to the impressive Temple of Athena. (B, L, D)

Day 12, Thu. Cruise: Heraklion-Santorini
Sail to Heraklion home to the ruins of King Minos' Palace of Knossos. Later, the ship anchors beneath the cliffs of Santorini, fabled to be the lost continent of Atlantis. The main town of Thira is accessible by donkey, cable-car or foot. (B, L, D)

Day 13, Fri. Cruise: Piraeus - USA
Disembark early this morning and transfer to the airport for the departure flight. (B)
